This year, July has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays, and 5 Sundays. This happens once every 823 years! It is called "Money Bags".
This year, we're going to experience four unusual dates:
1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11, 11/11/11
Take the last two digits of the year in which you were born, and add the age you will be this year. The results will be 111 for everyone in the whole world!
This is the year of the Money!
Our mission: to provide life enriching activities and care for adults with memory loss as well as support and respite for caregivers.

Congratulations Maureen Wells!
TCV’s Caregiver of the Month – Maureen Wells
Maureen has worked as the Daytrip program director for the Johnson Adult Day Program (JADP) in Denver, Colorado for more than twelve years and has touched hundreds of lives as a result. She is a professional caregiver who truly goes above and beyond. Her dedication is unmatched.Twelve years at one job location is pure dedication and love of what one can give to others in need. I admire this woman for her many accomplishments. She holds a Master’s degree in Psychiatric/Community Mental Health Nursing from the University of Colorado. She has also been a family support group leader for the Alzheimer’s Association for more than ten years.

Maureen’s efforts go above and beyond what’s required for those she serves. She developed an Art Appreciation Program, which provides “on-site” art viewing experiences to people with memory loss. Her program is available to various facilities and groups throughout the Denver-area community. She worked hand-in-hand with the Denver Art Museum to develop special tours for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Maureen also authored her own book, Ageless Outings – a local guidebook to local destinations with special information for those with disabilities.
Maureen shows dedication and belief in her Daytrip program; which helps alleviate the ‘shut-in’ factor while encouraging interaction in different environments.

More importantly, Maureen has a special connection with every single person and family she works with. She has worked with JADP to develop one of the most extensive Daytripping Programs for adults with limitations anywhere in the greater Denver area. JADP’s daytrips are tailored to meet the varying needs and abilities of the many participants who attend. Thanks to Maureen, nearly 200 trips depart from the facility annually, providing unique opportunities for adults to have lunch out at a restaurant and experience a wide variety of activities. Daytrip participants enjoy museums, Active Minds lectures, gardens and many other historic, cultural and scientific sites of interest throughout Colorado from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs.
Maureen has had a positive impact on many people over the years. Thanks to Maureen’s work, participants are able to develop new friendships and find others with whom they can share their current life journey. And that is truly inspirational.
